Evolving Economy

Known for its rich history, incredible diversity, and unmatched cultural scene, Brooklyn is where the world looks for inspiration and innovation. The evolution of Brooklyn’s economy is astounding; since 2009, the number of businesses has increased by 32 percent and business sales are up 48 percent. Today, private sector employment is at a record high and the unemployment rate is at a record low.

NYCEDC is working in Brooklyn to provide more economic opportunity for all residents while continuing to celebrate the borough’s unique heritage.
