Pier 6 Redevelopment

The redevelopment of Pier 6 on the Sunset park waterfront is crucial to support the public space and operations of the adjacent Bush Terminal Piers Park and Bush Terminal Campus.

NYCEDC plans to stabilize and redesign Pier 6 to serve as a public amenity for the neighborhood, visitors, and workers at Bush Terminal Campus. The redesign aims to:

1. Stabilize the pier to enable safe waterfront access and use for both the neighborhood and Bush Terminal Campus
2. Honor and celebrate the site’s rich industrial and ecological history
3. Create a sustainable and resilient public waterfront

The goal for the redeveloped pier is to serve all members of the Sunset Park community and visitors and employees who frequent Bush Terminal Campus.
