ConstructNYC Eligibility Application

Contractors that meet the below criteria are strongly encouraged to apply for ConstructNYC prequalification:

  • Average of last three years of revenue is below $3 million

  • Sound financial standing demonstrating the ability to perform work assigned through this program

  • In business for at least two years or a demonstrated ability to perform the work assigned

  • Have MBE or WBE certification with NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) or Empire State Development Corp. (ESDC), DBE certification with the U.S. Department of Transportation, or are veteran-owned

Prequalified contractors will be eligible to bid on packages up to $1 million, comprising of work including, but not limited to, the following trades: 

Brick Work/Façade Work * Demolition/Rubbish Removal * Electrical * Foundations & Excavations * General Construction * Hazardous Materials Abatement * HVAC * Plumbing *  Site Improvements * Underground Utilities * Landscaping

Any of the information requested below is confidential and will be used solely for purposes of assessing the applicant’s eligibility for the ConstructNYC program. No information will be shared with outside parties. 

Prequalification is contingent on the successful completion of an eight-week training cycle offered annually. Eligibility applications submitted by August 15th, 2024 will be considered for the 2025 cohort. Submissions after August 15th, 2024 will be considered for the 2026 cohort.

NYCEDC also offers "Green Training" on an annual basis—a 39-hour educational module offered to active participants in ConstructNYC that certifies participants as "green professionals." Learn more about Green Training.
