Milestone Board


NYCEDC on behalf of the City of New York, is seeking qualified proposals from community organizations, consultants, agencies or companies with experience in event planning and execution, marketing, branding, public relations, food and beverage sales and marketing, and/or community outreach to serve as a Community Partner for La Marqueta Public Market (“La Marqueta”).

La Marqueta is in East Harlem between E. 111th and E. 119th Street, underneath the Park Avenue viaduct. It is organized into eight separate lots and presently hosts a garden center, incubator and food production kitchens, an event and programming space (La Placita) and a Public Market. Since its inception in 1936, La Marqueta has steadfastly remained a landmark in East Harlem and is an essential hub for the local community.

The objective of this competitive procurement is to select a respondent who will independently plan, produce, and execute marketing activities and cultural programming at and on behalf of La Marqueta.

Please note that NYCEDC is the manager and sponsor of La Marqueta on behalf of the City of New York. The Community Partner is expected to function strictly as a community partner and event planner and is not expected to have any other operational authority or responsibilities.

NYCEDC plans to select a consultant on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: the respondent’s relevant experience in performing the services encompassed in the RFP, the quality of the proposal, the proposed fee, the quality and experience of the staff identified in the proposal.
