Upcoming Procurement Opportunities

New York City Economic Development Corporation (“NYCEDC”) is seeking design, engineering, construction, and construction management firms interested in providing services for various projects listed below (the “Projects”). NYCEDC intends to issue Requests for Qualifications (“RFQs”), Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”), and Invitations for Bids (“IFBs”), as further described below, from interested firms. This Notice is being issued solely for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation.

The projects are to include design, construction, construction management, and resident engineering services for infrastructure, streetscapes, waterfront improvements, new buildings, building renovations, and other work as described below.

NYCEDC intends to issue solicitations for the Projects on or about the dates listed below. Each solicitation will provide full details of specific submission requirements for each Project.

NYCEDC reserves the sole right, without incurring any liability, to change any aspect of the proposed Projects described below, including the right to not proceed with any solicitation, and/or the right to proceed in a different manner or on a different timeline than as described below.

Q3 2026

Coney Island - Boardwalk Reconstruction

NYCEDC intends to issue a Request for Qualifications in the third quarter of 2026 for Progressive Design Build services, followed by an RFP to shortlisted teams in the third quarter of 2026, to reconstruct Coney Island's Riegelmann Boardwalk, which spans 2.4 miles from West 37th Street to Brighton 15th Street in Brooklyn. Reconstruction will address the entirety of the boardwalk structure, including piles, pile caps, decking, furnishings, as well as restrooms, shade structures, lifeguard stations and a NYC Parks garage facility. The project will incorporate resiliency by raising the elevation of portions of the boardwalk and incorporating protective barriers in the subgrade. Manhattan Healthcare, Education, and Scientific Research Development Opportunity

Q4 2026

Broadway Junction - Streetscape Improvements

NYCEDC intends to issue a Request for Qualifications in the fourth quarter of 2026 for design-build services, followed by a Request for Proposals (RFP) to shortlisted teams in Q1 2027, to design and construct two streetscape improvements around the Broadway Junction Station Complex: Van Sinderen Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Fulton Street, and Broadway between Jamaica Avenue and Truxton Street.

The design has been advanced to the 30 percent level by the consulting engineer and will serve as the basis of design in the RFP. The consulting engineer will provide resident engineer services upon commencement of the design-build services. The project is subject to federal requirements. Learn more about Broadway Junction.
