Upcoming Procurement Opportunities
New York City Economic Development Corporation (“NYCEDC”) is seeking design, engineering, construction, and construction management firms interested in providing services for various projects listed below (the “Projects”). NYCEDC intends to issue Requests for Qualifications (“RFQs”), Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”), and Invitations for Bids (“IFBs”), as further described below, from interested firms. This Notice is being issued solely for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation.
The projects are to include design, construction, construction management, and resident engineering services for infrastructure, streetscapes, waterfront improvements, new buildings, building renovations, and other work as described below.
NYCEDC intends to issue solicitations for the Projects on or about the dates listed below. Each solicitation will provide full details of specific submission requirements for each Project.
NYCEDC reserves the sole right, without incurring any liability, to change any aspect of the proposed Projects described below, including the right to not proceed with any solicitation, and/or the right to proceed in a different manner or on a different timeline than as described below.
Q1 2025
Hunts Point Produce Market – Design-Build
NYCEDC intends to issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in the first quarter of 2025 for design-build services of a new Hunts Point Produce Market Facility. The Market, located in the South Bronx of New York City, is one the largest Produce Distribution centers in the world. The project includes new buildings, site work, environmental work, demolition, as well as rail and transportation work. Manhattan Greenway – North Harlem
NYCEDC intends to issue a Request for Proposals in the first quarter of 2025 for design and engineering services for the North Harlem section of the Manhattan Greenway, which will span approximately 1.2 miles along the Harlem River in Manhattan from approximately 145th to approximately 163rd Streets, including a pedestrian/bicycle bridge over the Harlem River Drive and various upland and on-street connections. QueensWay Forest Park Pass – Design Services
NYCEDC intends to issue a request for proposals (RFP) in the first quarter of 2025 for design services for Phase 2 of the QueensWay, Forest Park Pass. The QueensWay project proposes converting the former LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch into a linear public park. The Forest Park Pass phase will consist of a 0.7-mile-long linear park extending from Union Turnpike to Park Lane, through Forest Park, in the Glendale and Woodhaven sections of Queens. West New Brighton Library – Design Services
NYCEDC intends to issue a request for proposals (RFP) in the fourth quarter of 2024 for design services to renovate an existing branch of the New York Public Library in the West New Brighton section of Staten Island. Learn more about West New Brighton Library.
Q2 2025
NYCEDC intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) in the second quarter of 2025 for design and engineering services for the Fifth Avenue Public Realm project, which spans approximately 20 blocks, from 40th Street to 61st Street. The project will prioritize pedestrians with wider sidewalks, safe and secure pedestrian crossings and a cohesive streetscape palette including special pavements, new street trees, seating, lighting and plantings. QueensWay Metropolitan Hub and Forest Park Pass – Construction Management Services
NYCEDC intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) in the second quarter of 2025 for construction management services for Phase 1 (Metropolitan Hub) and Phase 2 (Forest Park Pass) of the QueensWay. The QueensWay project proposes converting the former LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch into a linear public park.
