NYCEDC’s Rebuilding Futures Program is a paid, six-month returnship designed to support experienced professionals looking to return to the workforce after an extended absence.

What You'll Gain

As an NYCEDC Returner, you will:

  • Application Launch: August 4, 2025
  • Schedule: Full-time (35 hours/week)
  • Program duration: January 2026 – June 2026 (six-month program)

Manage the day-to-day mechanics of our business, building processes and maximizing efficiencies.

Candidate Eligibility

We encourage you to apply if you:

  • Have at least five years of prior professional work experience
  • Have been out of the full-time workforce between 18-months and two years as of August 2025
  • Are able to work full-time (35 hours per week) at NYCEDC’s offices for the entirety of the six-month program

Application Timeline

  • August 4, 2025: Applications open
  • September 8, 2025: Applications close
  • September – November 2025: Interviews
  • December 2025: Offers extended
  • January 5, 2026: Program start date
