Meet the NYC Venture Capital Internship Alumni: Andrea Quinonez

My name is Andrea Quinonez, and this summer I had the opportunity to intern at SOSV New York as an AI-Driven Workflow Intern. I recently graduated from Baruch College with a bachelor’s in cybersecurity and minors in finance and economics. Throughout my academic and professional experiences, I’ve developed a passion for the intersection of technology, business, and innovation. Joining SOSV allowed me to explore that intersection firsthand while working at a global venture capital firm that invests in deep technology startups that create innovative products.

Every day at SOSV has brought a new challenge. My role has focused on exploring how AI can streamline internal workflows, improve operational efficiency, and support investment teams through automation and intelligent tools. From researching emerging AI technologies to testing workflows and identifying opportunities to optimize processes, I’ve gained hands-on experience applying technology to solve real business problems while supporting the firm’s broader mission of helping founders succeed.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship has been the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on projects that help their everyday tasks. I’ve seen firsthand how technology can create meaningful impact within a venture capital firm. These experiences have pushed me to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

As I begin my career, I hope to continue working in a role where I can learn, contribute in a creative and collaborative environment, and support the next generation of innovative companies. Being part of the NYC Venture Capital Internship Program has accelerated my growth and expanded my network in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It’s connected me with equally passionate peers, mentors who’ve generously shared their knowledge, and a broader venture ecosystem I’m excited to continue learning from.
