“Our public markets celebrate the many unique cultures and cuisines found throughout the City, and we are thrilled to be gathering once again in the Seaport to showcase them with our partners at Fulton Stall Market,” said David Hughes, Vice President at NYCEDC and Director of Public Retail Markets. “We look forward to again welcoming tourists and visitors from across the city to enjoy music, food and fun while learning about the rich history of these iconic spaces.”

“After a successful partnership with NYCEDC during the ‘Deck the Stalls’ series last December, we are excited to be collaborating again to generate awareness about the rich history of the NYC public market system across the city and also the Seaport District, where the original public markets began in the late 18th century,” said Stephen Dima, President of the Fulton Market Association, Inc., which operates the Fulton Stall Market.

"Lower Manhattan is one of the city's most convenient places for holiday shopping. From small boutiques, to mom and pops, to household name brands, you can find just about everything for everyone on your list. The NYC Public Markets Festival adds an incredible showcase of local foods and crafts to the neighborhood's existing stores and we welcome them," said Jessica Lappin, President of the Alliance for Downtown New York.

The NYC Public Markets system has been committed to providing affordable space for eateries, artists, merchants and other vendors since the 1940s when Mayor LaGuardia made a dedicated effort to provide street merchants and pushcart vendors with dedicated indoor spaces to do business.
